I've always wanted to be in downtown during New Years Eve. Couple years ago I volunteered for Chase Family 4th of July, it was quite a show at Lake Union. I couldn't imagine seeing Seattle's firework show at midnight!

You're right, Edy! Escrow matters a lot in the transaction. A good escrow agent will look over a transaction and knows the common issues that can easily get missed or should be clarified. Things like:

* Closing on or around legal holidays or scheduled county furlough days (those days the county is shutting down the recording office because of budget cuts)
* Liens, sewer assessments, or other hidden charges that may need to be paid off at closing
* Missing signatures, initials, or dates
* Oil tank measurements and credits
* Lender requirements for "wet signatures" and turn around times

I'd much rather have a phone call from a concerned escrow agent early in the transaction about something that needs attention or clarification than from a a panicked coop agent the day of closing.

I love Bellevue. If I were to move into the big city, I'd want to be somewhere close to the busy hustle, but far enough into the trees I can have my own yard and easy of access to Snoqualmie Pass. ;)

Good post, Edy! I encourage my clients to carefully review these re-sale certificate documents. This is where you will learn a lot about the personality of the condominium's community. Often you will find out about on-going issues and concerns that are repeatedly discussed the the HOA board meetings. You will also discover who's more active in the management of the association and may be able to contact them for more information if you have questions.

At the time, they were still offering free initial inspections. Since then, the bed bug epidemic has increased to the point that they've told me they don't have time for free inspections. Now they just ask the tenants/owners to provide them with bug samples that can be quickly picked up for examination by one of their technicians.

I've never ridden it but the concept sounds fun. To get from one part of the city to the other is easy. I use to just hop on the buses. But if you think about it if you want to go from West Lake Center to the Space Needle it covers a great distance in a short amount of time.

Tudors are GREAT for people who appreciate angles and style over size and openness. The reality is that tudors usually have a more compact, urban feel inside and more attention is given to intricate details. They are not for everyone. But in inner-Seattle, where space is more of a premium, they are quite popular and often command a premium price.
